Acapulco Gold is a classic sativa-dominant landrace strain known for lively cerebral effects. Canadian growers describe it as a golden sativa prized for daytime clarity.
Acapulco Gold typically tests high in THC, often in the 18-22% range. This level places it above many everyday strains popular in Canada.
CBD is low, often below 1%. Low CBD limits use for high-CBD medical protocols in Canada.
Grow difficulty ranks intermediate due to tall sativa stretch and training needs. Your Canadian grow room or greenhouse should provide height and steady airflow.
Flowering takes about 9 to 11 weeks under a 12/12 cycle. Outdoor growers in Canada should plan for a late-season harvest or use a greenhouse.
Yield ranges from medium to high. Indoor runs reach about 400-550 g/m2 and outdoor plants reach 500 g or more per plant in warm sites.
Plants grow tall with significant sativa stretch during early flowering. Expect 1.5 to 3 m outdoors and 1 to 1.8 m indoors with topping and training.
Acapulco Gold suits both indoor and outdoor grows. In Canada indoor or greenhouse setups provide the most reliable ripening.
Effects hit with a clear euphoric uplift and steady energy that supports focus. Many Canadian users prefer it for daytime work and creative tasks.
Genetics trace to a Mexican landrace origin selected for export. MasterSeeds lists it as Acapulco Gold x Landrace in breeder notes.
Seeds are offered as Feminized by many breeders. MasterSeeds provides feminized Acapulco Gold suited to controlled indoor or greenhouse grows in Canada.
Best climate is warm, tropical to subtropical with long sun exposure. In Canada growers should rely on greenhouse or indoor environments in BC, Ontario or the prairies for stable results.
Everything you need to know about this strain.
Grew Acapulco Gold this run and it was a bit different from what I’m used to. The plants stretched more and took longer to finish, but they stayed healthy the whole way through. Definitely needed a bit of patience. The buds came out lighter in color with a nice golden tint, and the smell was more on the earthy citrus side with a slight sweetness. After curing, the smoke was really smooth and the high was clear and uplifting, more of a daytime vibe. Not the quickest or easiest strain, but if you’re after something classic with a clean effect, it’s worth it.
